Jeff and Jan Hunter built their pharmacy with a mission to provide compassionate care to the people of Oklahoma City. Before long, healthcare providers in the area recognized HunterCare’s willingness and ability to innovate to meet the region’s needs. Healthcare providers turned to HunterCare to help fill the increasing need for behavioral health services.

As HunterCare grows, the mission remains the same. All people will receive attentive care and outstanding customer service.

Our Story

2004

Jeff and Jan Hunter opened HunterCare Specialty Pharmacy in 2007 with a special focus on customers with behavioral health needs. Jeff worked as the pharmacy as its sole pharmacist during the day and delivered medications to customers after close.

2008

In 2009 HunterCare expanded to fill the growing need for behavioral health care with a closed-door pharmacy. HunterCare Specialty Pharmacy grew to fill general and specialty pharmacy needs for the public. We also brought on drivers to help Jeff with the deliveries.

Today

We take pride in our ability to adapt to the needs of the community. But some things will never change. We will continue to welcome you into our pharmacy, take the time to understand your needs, and sincerely thank you for allowing us to be part of your care team.

Meet the Pharmacists

Kermit Kay, PharmD.

Dr. Kermit Kay served in the United States Air Force before earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2006. He joined the HunterCare team in 2010. His areas of expertise are compounding and medication therapy management. Kermit lives in Choctaw with his wife Tracey and their two daughters.

Julie Willis, PharmD.

Dr. Julie Willis attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated with her PharmD in 2002. She joined the HunterCare team in 2016. Julie has a passion for immunizations and superior customer service. She currently lives in Piedmont with her husband Jason and their two daughters.
